For the release of their new single, Stand Out, I was asked to create a promotional teaser video that captured Brian Tell & the Lovemakers classic, vintage vibes. With only a month to produce the piece and the band in Austin, TX while I was in NYC, I had to get creative.

As an avid 35mm photographer and close friend of the band, I was in the unique position of having years worth of candid photographs to work with.

While Brian’s initial idea was for a traditional lyric video, I thought a short teaser with the titular lyrics handwritten on my archive of photos would be a bit more unique. But, without a proper lightbox, I once again had to use my imagination.

Overall, the project was a lot of fun to work on. As a one-man-crew, I got to do a little bit of everything. This included some video editing, color correction, title animation, and even lighting and camera set-up right in my kitchen.
